My name, Juliann, is commonly misspelled and mispronounced. If I chose to brand myself as ‘Juliann Designs’ others would have difficulty remembering and sharing my information. On the another hand, when looking at my mandarin name,‘陳靖叡’ (Chen Jing-Rui), it provides the same problem. Which is why I use ‘Rei’ (pronounced as ‘ray’). Using this phonetical spelling of the last character of my name reduces the risk of miscommunication. Taking advantage of the lower character count, it can be used as so: “Rei, R, E, I” becomes a short, simple and snappier clarifying follow up.
